• Back to school will be given when the epidemiological light is green; only when it is safe for the school community: Esteban Moctezuma Barragán.

• Back to school will have well-defined strategies.

17/07/2020 (S.E.P.) When the time comes to return to school, clear strategies will be implemented, such as courses for teachers to personally attend to students who are behind, reported the Secretary of Public Education, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán.

By participating in the virtual installation of the Citizen Council of the National Commission for Continuous Improvement of Education (MEJOREDU in Spanish), headed by its president, Etelvina Sandoval Flores, stressed that the return to school will occur when the epidemiological traffic light is in green, that is, only when it is safe for the school community.

He emphasized that continuous improvement must also be ready to offer pedagogical and psychological supports, both to students and teachers; reason why the educational sector as a whole, and the Citizen Council, in particular, can contribute a lot to the National Educational System in its change towards a new normality.

Señaló que, dentro de las tareas perentorias de este organismo, destaca la de repensar la vida escolar, y recordó las nueve intervenciones que plantea la SEP para el regreso a las actividades presenciales, en especial el uso de cubrebocas obligatorio.

Before the new members of the MEJOREDU Citizen Council, Moctezuma Barragán affirmed that the collaborative learning method will be one of the axes for dynamics and coexistence in classrooms, with the aim of promoting care for the other.

"It is not that boys and girls are going to be taught in school to see the other as a potential enemy, as a threat of contagion, but as a being who must be cared for," he said.

The Head of the SEP assured that the philosophy of co-responsibility of mothers and fathers, which they demonstrated during learning at home, was manifested as in no other time in modern life.
